Common Questions

questionsHow does an AMR system work?

A transmitter is fitted to a submeter which takes multiple reads a day. It then sends a Radio Frequency signal to a central data collector at the property. We dial into this data collector multiple times a month, using a regular telephone line, and download all property utility readings, in seconds, to our billing software.

What is allocation?

Utility allocation is a method of billing in which the master metered property utility bill is divided among the residents using many different TCEQ approved formulas.

How long will it take to fully implement?

Assuming that 5% to 10% of the property turns over each month, either by renewal or leases, it may take 12 to 18 months to fully convert utility cost to residents.

Who handles questions about utility bills?

Texas Utility Group handles all questions regarding bills with our full service billing. We provide bi-lingual, highly trained staff to answer questions from management and residents.

Does utility billing really conserve utilities?
